Assessment
Take some time now to answer the following questions. Please note that the IRIS Center does
not collect your Assessment responses. If this is a course assignment, you should turn them
in to your professor using whatever method he or she requires. If you have trouble answering
any of the questions, go back and review the Perspectives & Resources pages in this module.
1. What are some important steps in interpreting data from high stakes assessments?
2. What does the law say about the instruction and assessment of students with
disabilities?
3. Why is it important that students with disabilities have access to the general education
curriculum? What are some ways to help these students to access the general
education curriculum?
4. What are accommodations? Modifications? Alternate assessments? When should
each of these be used?
