Children’s Literature.
“Words are merely words, pictures merely pictures, but literature for any age is words and pictures chosen with skill and artistry to give readers delight and to help them understand themselves, others, and the world” (Lukens, Coffel, and Smith, 2012, p. 9).
Please choose one children’s poem from the Children’s Poetry Foundation or The Children’s Poetry Archive and write a response that discusses how you think your chosen poem might “help [readers] understand” either “themselves, others, [or] the world” (Lukens, Coffel, and Smith, 2012, p. 9). Don’t forget to use specific examples from your chosen poem as part of your analysis.
