Contribute a link and a short summary for two recent news articles/current events related to two distinct aspects of nationalism in East Asia.
You can choose from news websites or longer analytical or commentary pieces. Think Al Jazeera, BBC, The Guardian, CNN, The Economist, The Japan Times, The Nation, The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, Foreign Affairs, Stars and Stripes, South China Morning Post, etc. I’d prefer more in depth articles than quickies, the article should be from within the last couple years, and you should get each article from a different source. The links below range in national origin and political predilection, but feel free to find other websites for your articles. Take a few minutes to poke around and see what sorts of topics have been topical of late. When you post your link, please also include a few sentences for each article describing the article and addressing how it relates to your idea of nationalism. We’ll discuss different ways of approaching nationalism as we consider the pieces together on Monday.
Finally, please offer a short introduction and list a few topics you are interested in tackling during this course.
