5. Critical spare list
Be it any product or a construction, spare parts are obvious for each one of them and this is because everything in this world gets depreciated overtime and there emerges the requirement of spare parts. There are some major parts installed in the three gorges dam in china which are very critical as they play an important role in holding the stout structure strong enough to withstand all foreign turbulence (Liu et al., 2019). Here is a list of the critical spares that are important for the maintenance as well as repair of the dam:
- Dam
This is the primary component of hydroelectric plant at a certain location where the river height matches with the possibility of attaining sufficient energy from water.
- Water Reservoir
This is placed at the back of the dam where the water is stored and the height of the water
decides the amount of potential energy that it may produce.
- Control Gates
These are the gates that are being built at the inside of the dam and are termed as inlet gates.
- Penstock

- Water turbines

This is the location where energy is produced and the shaft rotates inside the generator producing alternate current inside the coils. This rotation produces magnetic field that produces electricity through induction. So turbine shaft produces electricity with the help of kinetic and potential energy of water.

The three gorges hydroelectric power project is one of the chinas massive water control facility and its cost in terms of building is within the budget as stated by officials and they even told that the funds have been utilized in a very proper way. The project originated in the year 1993, and construction has been done over the middle reaches of Yangtze river, the most unruly among china. The plant was designed to tame the same as well as enhance the economy of china with the introduction of decent and cost effective energy. The main working of the project is inclusive of dam, among which 26 are located on the banks of the river among which all had gone into operation by the end of last year with a total capacity of installation 18.2 million kw. Supply of hydropower got initiated by the end of june which sold 318.8 billion kwh of energy that is clear enough to state power grids supplying to the east, central and southern parts of the country.
