For this assignment, you will be reflecting on your personal experiences with supervision and interactions at your practicum placement. Please address the following questions in a 2-3 page assignment. * What emotional reactions do you observe in yourself at your practicum? How do these emotions affect the values and attitudes reflected in your communication? * What emotional reactions have you had to reluctant, difficult or involuntary clients at your practicum placement? What behaviors did you find to be helpful or harmful in these situations? * Thinking about your emotional reactions at your practicum, how have you benefited from supervision? Were these emotional reactions you were comfortable addressing?

What challenges have you encountered in your supervisory relationship(s)? * Have you ever had a serious difference of opinion with your site supervisor on how to handle a situation? If so, how did you manage this difference of opinion? * What particular communication skills have you learned or strengthened through your practicum experience and/or supervision? Remember that you must uphold confidentiality! If you are discussing specific clients, please be sure to use a fictitious name and also avoid sharing any identifying information like date of birth, address, medical/educational/financial information. Demographic information such as gender, age, marital status, race, ethnicity, income level and also occupation is appropriate to include in your comments. Lastly, if you have not begun your practicum hours, please reach out to your instructor. You will be required to complete this assignment based on a previous work/volunteer experience.
