The common morality framework is the most effective framework we have discussed this semester for solving ethical dilemmas due to its removal of bias, use of the morally relevant features for fact-gathering, and asking whether the moral rule violation being considered is publicly allowed. Other frameworks from which you have chosen (utilitarianism, deontology, Rawls’ theory of justice, and virtue ethics) are also very frequently in ethical decision-making. In light of this, you have written a paper describing and applying the common morality and one other framework. Describing how they align with the NASW Code of Ethics, and identifying social work practice issues based on one of the provided cases.

You will be sharing your Case Application Papers within your small groups this week in order to achieve the following goals: To evaluate the use of the common morality framework & one other framework for solving ethical dilemmas To evaluate how the frameworks align/do not align with the NASW Code of Ethics To evaluate whether the submission uses terminology and thorough descriptions of the chosen frameworks To evaluate the effectiveness of the practice issue discussions To provide critically considered and respectful feedback to other students on the content of their papers To receive and apply feedback from other students on the content of their papers
