This week we have the Moral Analysis Introduction and Planning Outline due.
One part of the instructions specify that you should “Next, draft an outline of at least three main claims that you will provide evidence in support of in the body paragraphs of your essay.”
You are also instructed to “Always cite any sources that you have used within your work.”
I wanted to explain these 2 features in more detail so that no one would miss out on these important steps.
“Next, draft an outline of at least three main claims that you will provide evidence in support of in the body paragraphs of your essay.”
The idea is this: Those 3 main claims are 3 main ideas (of your own choosing) that you would want to discuss in a long paper where you apply your chosen ethical theory to analyze a moral situation from your chosen film. Basically, how would you break it down? What 3 main points do you want to discuss?
Now this will change a bit for the final essay, basically things will get a bit more standardized, but the point of the outline is to get you starting to figure out how you want to approach this. You should be able to write out these 3 claims in 3 separate sentences.
