The papers are to be on Thomas Hobbes, who was the first to enunciate the idea of utility maximization. The paper are looking for a sustained and thoughtful discussion of Hobbes with some consideration, when appropriate, of current issues. However, the bulk of the paper should be historical with only a couple of pages or so on current issues. Please make sure that you have at least seven sources, of which one of the sources is attached below. There is no requirement with respect to particular format style, but your style need to be consistent. The paper are not much interested in the person’s life (perhaps only a paragraph or two)–we are interested in their ideas.
