Part A: Rationale (600w) identify the place/organization and write a brief description of the overall site, the place/organizational role and any resources/programs available (attach appendices as needed).
Then, elaborate a rationale for the place/organization selected for your visit. This will be in terms of the potential to explore big science topics. Overall relevance to early childhood sciences and any other factors that influenced your choice.
* Part B: Visit reflections and planning During and after your visit to the place/organization take a critically reflective approach. Consider what you may have learnt, how might children respond and what children might readily engage with in this place/organization. Identify specify relevant features/activities available in the place/organization (attach appendices as needed). Discuss their potential for planning sciencing including ways of learning/doing science with children and relevant action-concepts for children. Also, identify some examples of pre-excursion preparation and post-excursion extension sciencing experiences for children relevant to the specific place/organisation.
* Part C: Linking to curriculum and philosophy (600w) In the final part of your report, identify links between the sciencing possibilities discussed above and the EYLF (DEEWR, 2009) plus various early years primary curriculum areas. Elaborate and discuss these links. Lastly, reflect on how your approach to sciencing with children in this assignment aligns with your philosophical values about sciencing as outlined in your first assignment.
