EHR Design and Assessment

One of the key roles of health information management professionals is their involvement in the review,
selection, and design of an electronic health record (EHR).
Doing an online search of the topic, “how to select an EHR” or “selecting an EHR-AHIMA,” select and read a
few of the articles in your search in order to document a list of questions (at least 10 questions) that a
healthcare facility could use in evaluating the usability and screen design of a proposed system.
Make sure your list of questions considers the following areas:
Usability
Performance
User interface and screens
Customization
User needs and input
After each question, state which of the five bullet point(s) above the question addresses.
